望日劇場 Burnt Mango Dance Theatre

Born from Hofan’s nomadic wanderings, Burnt Mango Dance Theatre is a collaborative framework for international artists to create movement-based theatre projects. Since 2003, the company has devised and performed in Philadelphia, Paris, Bytom, London and Hong Kong.

Experimenting with voice, text and movement, the company creates with techniques such as contact improvisation, butoh, Lecoq physical theatre, tai chi and choral / vocal meditations.

Currently, Burnt Mango is in hiatus as the members are busy with their own projects.


Hofan currently freelances in Hong Kong as a director, choreographer, teacher and performer. Her training includes physical theatre from the Lecoq School / London Int'l School of Performing Arts (LISPA); contemporary dance with the Silesian Dance Theatre, as well as Chan and Wu style Tai Chi. As the Artistic Director of Burnt Mango Dance Theatre, she has directed and performed in a number of pieces, including Aftermath (with Cocoa), which received the Melvin B Troy Award fro Choreography.
